The discovery of Tutankhamun

I am a massive fan of history, so much that I am doing it for my GCSE’s. One of my favourite history stories is the search of Tutankhamun. You might not be a big fan but I am fascinated by that story and the Ancient Egyptian period. Here is some key information on the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Howard Carter

Tuthankhamun’s Tomb

The tomb is about 20 metres underground. Similar to the other tombs at the site, it was cut out of solid limestone bedrock of the valley The tomb is made up of four main rooms; the Antechamber, the Annexe, the Treasury and the Burial Chamber.

Fact of the day: Penguins used to be almost seven feet tall.
